With nearly 25 years of service to affordable housing, Janet Wiglesworth has been an integral part of delivering on Virginia Housing’s mission. She has served in multiple leadership roles, including Managing Director of IT and Managing Director of Homeownership before being named Chief Operations Officer in 2018.

Janet was recently appointed as Interim CEO by Virginia Housing’s Board of Commissioners, effective January 1, 2024. Janet brings a wealth of experience in overseeing day-to-day operations and has played a pivotal role in Virginia Housing’s growth and success.

Janet is an active member of the National Council of State Housing Agencies and the Credit Union National Association. She has also served on multiple boards, including the Virginia Mortgage Lenders Association Board and Virginia Credit Union Board.

Janet loves working at Virginia Housing because of the tangible impact we have on the quality of life of Virginians and the opportunities to partner with other organizations who make a difference.

A proud VCU Ram, Janet studied computer science; however, she also has a passion for the arts. Outside of work, Janet practices photography and enjoys spending time with her family.
